Short Lived
So this post comes a bit late, but our friend Crazy Ass Hippy quit.
This is how it all ended.
Remember how I said she talked a lot of shit in front of customers? Well, she finally went too far. One day CAH is working with one of the shift managers. This shift manager has been there since the beginning of the store and knows her shit about retail and customer service.
Enter a mother and her robust baby. It all starts out innocently enough with them all talking about babies and how cute this one is. Then CAH says, “I love when babies are fat. They are just so much cuter.” The mother gets a bit weirded out but doesn’t cause a scene or even remark at the comment, just pays and walks away.
Enter a woman with eye make-up. CAH says to the shift manager loudly, “I think it is so tacky when people wear too much eye make-up.” And then something about sluttiness or whores and make-up. The woman hears this and looks up shocked that someone would say this. The shift manager swoops in and saves the day talking about how she doesn’t think so and that she herself sometimes wears a lot of eye make-up. Crisis averted.
Enter another woman, who may or may not have been obese. CAH again just has to comment. She turns to the shift manager with the other woman roughly three feet away and decides to open her mouth. “I just don’t understand how people can let themselves get so fat. If I was ever like that I would want to kill myself.” This is obviously where the shit hit the fan. The customer basically freaks out and the only thing that the shift manager can do to maybe save anything is apologize profusely for CAH and completely comp the customer’s order.
The shift manager immediately chews out CAH for her behavior and calls the store manager and let him know what went down. The store manager then starts to call everyone else to see if this kind of thing has happened before. Everyone agreed that she had been talking some smack here and there, but never anything that bad or loud so that a customer could hear it.
The store manager then calls CAH to let her know she has one more chance before she is fired and to get her side of the story. She totally freaks out on him and says that the store is such a negative environment and she is not feeling welcome there anymore. She goes on to say that she believes that she has the right to speak her mind and that no one is aloud to tell her any different. And then she quit.
